Good fakemons, but someones looks too much like originals… Sporout is too much like Turtwig, and Turcell is too much like Squirtle. Kappaqua is the best of those starters. And Chrysalux and Glitterfly looks like too much Metapod and Butterfree, but other ones are very good :)!

Yeah, sometimes if I have trouble starting up a sprite, I’ll base it off of an existing one. I’ve been considering redoing Chrysalux and Glitterfly, because those are the worst offenders in my opinion. Funny thing is, Turcell has nothing to do with Squirtle, any similarities are coincidental. Anyways, thanks for the comment.

Yeah, there’s a small handful of people. Professor Pine and Crate know, as they were robbed by Team Planetary. Professor Oak and Tracey encountered them. And if you read the Cosmic Chronicles, the two main characters there know.

I gotta say, I’m really liking both your story and the Pokemon you’re introducing as well. I like how you had Brenda feel depressed from losing the contest and taking her anger out on her own Pokemon, only to realize what she had done. Much like how Dawn felt when she lost her contest because she was putting more effort on her performances rather than showing her Pokemon. By the way, I’m working on a story with a friend of mine and we’re on the final chapter. So I was wondering if I can use the Dracosmic line as new Pokemon given to one of my OCs by Cynthia and using Tenno as the new region to visit? If that’s all right you.

It always makes me happy to hear that people are enjoying my story and my Pokémon, so thank you for the comment.
As far as using my Pokémon and region goes, let me just make sure I understand what you want to do correctly. You want to have a sort of “The Journey Continues” ending where even the story is over, you set up for the next adventure of the protagonist, and you want that to be Tenno. You’re not actually going to set a sequel story there, correct? If that is the case then you have my permission as long as you give me credit and refer people to my story and/or website as the source of the Pokémon and region.
LikeLike
Yeah, something like that. My friend’s the creator of the story we’re working on, so I have to go to him with some ideas I have in mind. And you’re right that we’re not going to do a squeal and more of a “The Journey Continues” kind of ending, but yeah, that’s the plan. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure you’re given credit for your characters and refer people to your story and/or website. One more thing before I sign out for the night, think I can also use Professor Pine for the region’s Starter Pokemon and having Galileo as Cynthia’s distant cousin? Thanks for the permission and I hope to see more of your story.
LikeLike
I suppose I don’t mind the use of Pine, the starters, and Galileo, but I would rather you stay away from having Galileo be related to Cynthia just because that would be messing with my canon. Not that it’s that major of a change or that I have any direct reason why Galileo couldn’t be Cynthia’s cousin, but I’d just rather not have development of the character outside of my story. I’d much rather you stick to facts that I’ve already established, sorry. Though, there’s no harm if you want to make him Cynthia’s friend instead. Sorry, I’m just very controlling of my characters. I hope you understand.
LikeLike
It’s all right, they’re your characters and I can understand. It was just a suggestion and it got turned down, but I don’t mind. Instead, I think I’ll have both Cynthia and Galileo be pen pals and friends. That much better for you?

Thanks for the comment, it always makes me happy to hear that someone is enjoying my work. As for Repiv, the design is meant to be a subversion of the concept of snakes with hoods having fake faces, and turning that fake face into a real face. Because of that, the pattern that would traditionally be taken as fake eye spots (the red and yellow designs) are the actual eyes in the case of Repiv. Thanks for your interest.

The Pokemon in question is a possible 2 stage bug type named Bookworm who can change secondary typing depending on what book it’s holding (i.e. a book on ocean exploration makes it a bug/water type. It’s final evolution could be version exclusive or gender based your decision. The names I came up with are as follows: Mothepedia and Ledgerfly. Depending on the final choice you make about them, they could have access to the various types due to the book they hold. If you go based on gender, than a idea for one book would be based around fairy tales; males become a dragon type, females go fairy. If you use this idea please keep the core idea of a book themed bug and have fun with it artisticly. For a nod to the original comic series in order to be an electric type they must be holding “The Electric Tales of Picachu”. This is my idea, hope you use it . They are both known as the Reader Pokemon.

❤ best. idea. ever.

Glad you liked the idea of this unique bug. I have given it a bit of a redesign of sorts. Instead of two evolution paths just one; Mothepedia only. The book concept stays so its similar to Sylvally in type switching. On the looks side of things Mothepedia resembles Dustox in apperance with wings that look like aged and tattered paper. Cool detail is that its wings are covered in faded markings that look like anciect writing that shimmers in the color of its current type of Pokemon.
Example of Dex entry:
Mothepedia: The Voracious Reader Pokemon. Ancient philosophers and clerics have theorized that if a person can decipher and read the writing on a Mothepedia’s wings they will be able to converse with all Pokemon just as easily as with other people. This has yet to be proven.

I just used Microsoft Paint and constructed them pixel by pixel. It takes some practice, and I suggest studying real sprites to see how they’re made. And like you saw in another comment, to make things easier, I’ll sometimes base my sprite off an existing sprite. You just have to make sure you work hard to make it so people can’t recognize the original sprite. Sometimes I don’t do that part quite well enough, but am planning on redoing those ones eventually.

I’m honored that you would ask me for help, and I would if I could, but I just don’t think I can be much of a help. I can’t just give you a concept for a Pokémon, because any ideas I have are already used for my own Pokémon. And I can’t really give you name for Pokémon with knowing what that Pokémon’s concept is. Sorry about that.
Though, perhaps the easiest way to make a Fire-Type starter would be to look to the Chinese Zodiac for inspiration, as every Fire-Type starter so far has in some way corresponded to an animal on the zodiac.

LikeLike
Now, I know Turcell isn’t related to Chinese Zodiac, but ‘Vipyre’ is! It’s fire + snake!
LikeLike
Yeah, Turcell is not based off of the zodiac for two main reasons. Mostly its because back when I first made it years ago, I din’t even know that the zodiac thing existed. And then, when it came time to revive my old ideas for Cosmic Quest, I considered making a new Fire-Type starter that was based off of a zodiac animal, but I decided I didn’t want to let that stand in the way of creating a Pokémon idea that I liked. Also, there is an inherent flaw with using a zodiac animal, and that’s that there are only so many of them. If Game Freak keeps on making Fire starters based off of the zodiac, they’ll eventually make them all, which means if you made a fire ox starter Pokémon, odds are that Game Freak will eventually make one as well, rendering yours redundant and obsolete.
Also, Vipyre being a Fire-Type and based off of a zodiac animal is just a coincidence.

I know what the ‘Zodiac being used by Game Freak’ is like. Also, do you mind if I have a Pokemon named Arctick? I came up with the concept before I found this website.

Currently the Tenno Pokédex has 63 Pokémon published in it, but counting the names of Evolutions that I’ve revealed the names of, but not released, there are 78. Protagonist is not the right word. It is most certainly an antagonist. But all that being an antagonist means is that it’s a character opposing the main character. It doesn’t automatically mean good or evil. It’s better to say that it has its own goals and reasons for achieving those goals, and based on your interpretation, it may not be entirely evil.

These are really cool, although Repiv freaks me out, I like the concept of the fake face becoming a real face though! Although maybe you could add a fake head on the top, you know, so where the fake face would be, there’s a real one, and where the real face would be, there’s a fake one?

Thanks!
Repiv was one of the very first sprites I had made for this website, so it’s a little more experimental, and arguably a little more sloppy than than the rest, so I’ve always considered going back and redoing it. If I ever do, I’ll take your suggestion into consideration, it’s a good idea. My only reserve on that is that it might be hard to distinguish the fake head from the real head, which would diminish the purpose of swapping the fake and real faces. The other problem is that I’m usually so far behind in sprites, that I never have the time to work on redoing old ones. For example, right now I’m five sprites behind.

Okay. Also, I have a few questions about Tennoan forms:

Regional Evolutions is something you’re just going to have to wait and see on. I won’t say I’m doing them, but I won’t say I’m not doing them either.
