Final Update: Added a total of four new non-Pokémon stages. This time it’s two Yu-Gi-Oh and two Smash Bros inspired stages. Unfortunately, my online free-trail is coming to an end, so this will be the last of my stages for the foreseeable future.

Remember a few months ago when I explained my vision for Tenno Region representation in Smash Bros? Well, thanks to the recent 3.0 update of Smash Brothers Ultimate and the inclusion of a rather robust Stage Builder mode, part of those visions have now become a reality. Back then, I described that the Tenno stage would be the Solar Peak Ruins. To recap, this is how I described it:
“This stage is set in Luna, Terra, and Sol’s Solar Peak Ruins, where Heliosol is found in Luna and Terra. The main floor of the stage is a raised altar above the rest of the ruins (the alter where you would encounter Heliosol). There are also two floating platforms, one over the drop-off on either side of the stage. Periodically, Heliosol will appear in the stage. It will randomly appear in its normal form or its Ascended Form. When in its standard form, it will stand in the background and randomly launch fiery attacks at the battlefield. But when it appears in its Ascended Form, it will join the battle as a boss. When it’s defeated, it will release a burst of fire and light that will cause damage to all fighters except the one who beat it. When Heliosol isn’t around, Sun-themed Pokémon such as Solrock, Solem, Volcarona, Heliolisk, Turcell, and Gigastar will appear at random in the background. They don’t do anything but stand around.”
Unfortunately, I couldn’t make a boss battle against Heliosol in its Ascended Form, but I can still have Heliosol Regular Form appear in the background, and attack with waves of fire that move back and forth across the stage.

But that’s not all, remember in the Team Rocket Q&A Session that Meowth wanted to be represented in Smash Bros? I decided to oblige with this next stage:
This stage is clearly based off of Team Rocket’s famous Meowth Balloon. The balloon gently bobs up and down as clouds pass by. A constant wind blows towards the right. Blast off with Team Rocket on this stage.

This next one is a personal favorite of mine:
It’s the Temporal Tower, from Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time, Darkness, and Sky, the site of the fight to the finish against Primal Dialga. The two Time Gears can be stood on, and will spin.

This is Pokémon Go in Smash Bros stage form. The background is an accurate recreation of what the map in Pokémon Go could look like, given the area your in. It includes three PokéStops, one open, one closed, and one closed and cooling down as well as a Team Mystic (the team I’m on) gym.

Battle inside of a Tetris board. Watch as a player drops an L-block into place, and activate a bomb block to clear the board.
A cannon-filled airship just like the ones originating in Super Mario Bros 3. Includes my custom-made self-firing cannon balls.
Designed to look like a Bowser fight from the original Super Mario Bros. You can even hit the “ax” to destroy the bridge and send your opponents plummeting into lava.
A zero-gravity battle arena that uses upward blowing wind to negate gravity. Can you avoid the asteroids as you fight your opponents in an entirely aerial battle?
A recreation of the first stage of Sonic Adventure 2. It’s set on a steep slope and features a giant truck that plows down the stage, and even leaps off a jump.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Battle City
This stage takes place atop the Kaiba Corp blimp, where the finals of Battle City were held. Also, Kaiba’s Blue-Eyes White Jet will fly over.
A stage designed to look like the duel arena’s from season one. In it, the Blue-Eyes White Dragon and Dark Magician (with designs inspired by the Tablet of Lost Memories) do battle.
The final boss of Super Smash Bros Brawl’s Subspace Emissary recreated as a stage. Tabuu floats in the background and attacks with various objects.
Moving on from the final boss of Brawl to the final boss of Ultimate, this stage recreates the true final battle of World of Light. Galeem and Dharkon float in the background and each attack with their own move.
And that’s it!
DISCLAIMER: I haven’t actually subscribed to Nintendo’s online service, and have uploaded these stages using a seven-day free trial. I do not know if these stages will still be available to play when my trial runs out in a week. Never mind, they’re still there!
Sorry for the wait, but I suppose you’re probably use to that by now with all the breaks I’ve had to take. Speaking of, I first announced Nemex Unleashed way back on April 25. It wasn’t until October 30, half a year later that it actually was released, and now here we are, another three months later for the review. At this point, it’s nearly been a year since I first announced the movie. Trust me when I say I never meant for this to get so out of hand. I knew that I wasn’t going to be able to write much during the summer months, but when I first announced the movie, I figured it would be the final thing I published before summer. I planned to announce it in April, and then release it at the end of June, maybe early July if I had to. The problem was, as always, life got in the way. I was still in the middle of writing the Crater Cave/Den of Mega Evolution episodes, and I had to finish those before starting the movie, due to the tie-in at the end. And with how busy I got, I was unable to finish those episodes until mid-July. I started work on the movie right away, but with how busy I get during summer, I wasn’t able to work on it seriously until September, and at that point it still took me a month and a half to finish it.
Anyways, as for the movie itself, I personally felt much happier with this one than I did the first. Not that I disliked Myoken The Guiding Light, I just thought that Nemex Unleashed had a much more entertaining and interesting story. I feel like it had a good balance of personal story, with the separation of Ash and Pikachu, and action/excitement in the Nemex vs. Heliosol battle. Originally, I envisioned this movie as simply being about the battle between the two Legendary Pokémon, but I knew I needed something to make it more personal. In my opinion, that’s been part of the issue with recent Pokémon movies in general. There hasn’t been much in the way of personal investment. This was on the top of my list of things I wanted to make sure I got right. The other thing I wanted to do right was the use of Team Rocket. It has been extremely rare for Jessie, James, and Meowth to directly interact with main cast over the course of the movies. While I understand the need to keep them off to the side in most movies, being the main characters that they are, I fully believe they deserve a major part, at least every once in a while. So making them the servants of Nemex was my way of making sure they were given the major role they deserved, and, if I do say so myself, it worked quite well.
The final thought I would like to bring up is the fact that if it wasn’t already obvious back in Myoken The Guiding Light, Nemex Unleashed should now make it abundantly clear that my movies are all interconnected, this movie being a direct sequel to the previous. I was inspired to such from the first three Sinnoh movies. I was always impressed by the fact that the three movies formed a trilogy and built off of each other, and have always always thought that that was the height of the Pokémon movies. For the life of me, I cannot understand why, three generations later, they wouldn’t have tried it again (though, I suppose it looks like we might finally be getting it once more, based off of the trailer for the next movie). So I knew right away that I wanted to do the same with my movies, and more so.
Of secondary note, I wanted to make a comment based off of Ultra Sun and Moon. Read no further if you don’t want any Ultra Sun and Moon spoilers. In case you didn’t know, Necrozma has already been made into a Light/Psychic-Type, and it’s signature move Prismatic Laser is a Light-Type move. It should be noted that Ultra Necrozma, in Luna, Terra, and Sol Versions, would be a Light/Dragon Combo-Type Pokémon, losing its Psychic-Type, while it’s new signature move, Photon Geyser, would also be a Light-Type. As a result, it’s signature Z-Move, Light that Burns the Sky, is also a Light-Type, making it the first Light-Type Z-Move, seeing as I have yet to make a generic Light-Type Z-Move, due to the lack of Z-Moves in my games. Also of note, is that when Necrozma changes into its Dawn Wings or Dusk Mane Forms, it loses its Light-Type, to be replaced by the Ghost and Steel-Types respectively, which is then regained when it transforms via Ultra Burst.

An evil known as Nemex has continuously wiped out life on Earth in an endless cycle of destruction, and the time for it to assert its influence has come once again. An unsuspecting Ash has a great destiny thrust upon him when he learns he must join the Legendary Pokémon of Sun, Heliosol, in combat to stop Nemex, but all Ash wants to do is save Pikachu. Includes the Pikachu Short, Detective Pikachu and the Case of the Coin Caper!
The past two days of Ultra Sun and Moon trailers have made me realize that I haven’t done anything yet to celebrate these upcoming games. Combine that with my recent reveal/focus on Sol Version, and it only seemed right to bring these two expanded versions together in one place. So without any further ado, I present to you the newest piece of bonus content, the Ultra Sun and Moon/Sol Version background.
Classification: The Solar Pokémon
Description: It was given the task of constructing the cornerstone of the Solar System, the Sun, by the Cosmic Architect. When it absorbs ample cosmic energy, it will ascend to a higher form.
Does Not Evolve
In Pokémon Sol Version, Team Planetary takes their plans to the next level. Instead of simply taking control of the legendary Pokémon Heliosol, they use a special machine to force Heliosol to absorb as much cosmic energy as they can force into it. This energy is what they have gathered from Meteoric Shards, the Cosmic Guardians, and Terratlas and Seluna, so it is the energy of the Cosmic Architect. This energy causes Heliosol to ascend into a new, more divine, form. In this form, Heliosol has access to a facsimile of the power the Cosmic Architect possesses. Also in this form, its Fire-Type changes into a Dragon-Type, and most of its Fire-Type moves transform into equivalent Dragon-Type moves. However, Heliosol cannot maintain this form for long, and it will soon transform back into its Regular Form. After recharging its cosmic energy reserves, it will ascend once more.
This form changing is controlled by Heliosol’s new ability, Ascension Cycle. At the end of every turn in battle, Ascension Cycle will transform Heliosol into the form it isn’t. So Regular Form will transform into Ascended Form, and Ascended Form will transform into Regular Form. When it changes form, certain moves it knows will also change mid-battle, meaning that Heliosol could potentially have access to eight different moves in one battle. See the in-depth page for more details on what moves will change. Whatever form Heliosol is in when the battle ends is the form it will begin the next battle in.
A Heliosol captured in Sol Version will have the ability Ascension Cycle replacing Pressure, which would have been its second ability in Luna and Terra Version, and therefore it cannot have Pressure as an ability if captured in Sol. One captured in Luna or Terra Version and traded over to Sol Version will maintain Pressure as its second ability. As Ascension Cycle is not an ability in Luna and Terra Versions, a Heliosol with Ascension Cycle will have it replaced by Pressure in Luna and Terra, but it will return if traded back to Sol Version.
Also, Heliosol Ascended Form’s signature move, Artificial Genesis, and ability, Ascension Cycle, have been added to the Attackdex and Abilitydex page, and the artwork of it can be viewed on the Gallery page.
The next Cosmic Quest movie has its title, it’s called Nemex Unleashed. This is the final version of the movie’s poster. It would seem that new cover Pokémon of Sol Version has taken Heliosol’s spot on the poster. And what’s the deal with the menacing Pokémon in the background? Could it be the titular Nemex?
